Winning #SBS was amazing! It gave me a great boost to end 2014 on! I received lots of lovely new followers and was welcomed to the #sbsfamily by past winners.
I have always been "crafty" so for my First Wedding Anniversary I decided to make something unique for my husband, as you traditionally give a paper gift I decided to create a papercut-he loved it and after that I was hooked on papercutting!
After the birth of my Daughter in April 2013 I had the idea to start The Crafty Calf and in October 2013 my idea became reality, The Crafty Calf was born. I have a professional background in Veterinary Nursing, I worked in the profession for 8 years so I have a well trained steady hand and a slight obsession with fiddly sharp things!
I now happily create papercuts full time, including my popular family tree papercut, pregnancy scan papercut and baby's first year papercut.
One of the most useful things you can do for your business is network, especially in the early days when orders may be quiet. Build up solid relationships with other businesses and you will build a strong support network. They will be there for you when things aren't going to plan, be happy for you to bounce ideas off and most of all celebrate with you in your successes.
