East Ruston Cottages

16 years ago I bought a barn.  Converted it to the holiday property that I wanted to visit.  After years of trying to find properly dog welcoming holiday cottages around the country that didn't ..

A. charge a fortune for the dogs
B.  only wanted "2 small well behaved dogs"
C.  wouldn't allow them on the furniture, like at home
D.  thought that dog friendly meant dog-eared
E.  thought a secure garden was a 2ft high fence with dog sized gaps in

I knew I could do better.  I started off with my own and one I cleaned for a friend.  Another friend set up the website - ok, so East Ruston Cottages was NOT the most inspirational name but it's where the cottages were and I had NO idea how it would grow.

16 years later we have 40, have won the Dog Friendly Magazine award for UK Self Catering Properties 4 years running and now this amazing SBS nomination.  My team working with me are amazing and our owners of the cottages are truly engaged and passionate too.

It's not a job - it's a way of life.  Sharing my part of Norfolk that I have lived in for 35+ years (with my dogs) is a pleasure.
