At Weebert’s World, we believe imagination changes everything. What started as scrap-built robot sculptures in our Shropshire workshop has grown into a magical world of characters, children’s stories, and dreams of a stop-motion TV series. We’re buzzing about giving children permission to play, explore, imagine and create, showing them that even old bits and bobs can become something extraordinary. Whether it's sparking a child’s imagination or helping future engineers take their first creative steps, Weebert’s World is our love letter to curiosity. And we're only just getting started.
I’m Lotty, the co-founder and driving force behind Weebert’s World, a growing children’s brand built around our handcrafted robot characters, the Berts. My husband Andy, a veteran and former aviation engineer began creating the scrap art robot sculptures to help his mental health. He creates the robots from scrap, and I bring them to life through stop-motion storytelling, writing, and running the business.
I started with no background in business, just a deep belief that imagination matters. I write the stories, lead the development of our children's animation dream, and drive everything from strategy to outreach. Weebert’s World is rooted in heart, creativity, and the idea that even something discarded can become extraordinary. From our Shropshire kitchen table, we’re building a brand that gives children permission to play, explore, imagine and create.
I’m still learning every day, so I wouldn’t call these tips ... more like things that have helped me so far.
1. Believe in your idea, even if you’re still figuring it out. You don’t need all the answers to get started. I began with a little robot and a big dream, and learned the rest along the way.
2. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. I’ve found the best lessons come from listening to others with more experience, and most people are generous with their help if you’re open and honest. (That's why I'm so excited about joining the #SBS Community)
3. Keep showing up. Some days are hard, especially when you’re juggling creativity, business, and belief. But progress doesn’t come from perfection, it comes from persistence.
4. Remember your ‘why’. For me, it’s about helping children see the power of imagination. On tough days, coming back to that keeps me going.
