Sustainability has always been a huge part of my life.
Growing up in the austerity of the 1970s and the unemployment of the 80s meant that I’ve been brought up to appreciate the whole idea of reuse and recycle. So making my business sustainable was not only relatively easy, it also came as second nature, However recently I was awarded certification from the UNESCO Galloway and South Ayrshire Biosphere, in recognition of the lengths I go to in order to make my art and Reiki businesses eco-friendly.
The lengthy verification process was quite arduous and involved deep diving into processes, tools and equipment; I looked at the materials I use, the packaging, my delivery methods, energy providers and even the cleaning products I purchase. Eventually I succeeded in showing just how dedicated I am to maintaining an earth-friendly business.
Which is appropriate when the inspiration for my work as an artist comes entirely from the world about me!
