Little Beau Sheep, a Yorkshire-based business that champions British wool through practical products for laundry and self-care, has been named winner of the Supply Chain Champion Award for Best B2B Business at this year’s Small Awards.

Little Beau Sheep won the award, which recognises small businesses working within the business supply chain and supporting other businesses, both large and small.

Founder Sarah Turner was presented with the award at a celebration event in central London hosted by presenter, writer, actor and comedian Sue Perkins.

Founded in 2015, Little Beau Sheep was created with a mission to increase the use and value of British wool. Working with farmers, mills, manufacturers and retailers across the UK, the business has built a supply chain centred around British materials, British manufacturing and long-term partnerships. In recent years, the company has also worked with farms and estates to transform wool from their own flocks into bespoke products, helping create additional value from an often-undervalued natural resource.

Sarah Turner said:
“Winning this award is incredibly special because it recognises something that often happens behind the scenes. Supply chains are about people, relationships and collaboration. Every Little Beau Sheep product represents the work of farmers, mills, makers, manufacturers and retailers who all play a role in bringing British wool to market.

The timing feels particularly meaningful as I have just spent several days at The Great British Wool Revival Summit at Dumfries House discussing the future of the wool industry. As Founder of Little Beau Sheep and a Court Assistant of the Worshipful Company of Woolmen, I am passionate about helping create more value for British wool and the businesses that depend on it. I hope this award shines a spotlight on the opportunities for farms, estates and rural businesses to create more value from their own wool and strengthen the future of British farming.”

Now celebrating a decade of rewarding the UK’s best small businesses, The Small Awards is a nationwide search for the smallest and greatest firms in the UK, across all sectors. It is organised annually by Small Business Britain, which champions, inspires and accelerates the nation’s 5.7 million small firms.

Over 80 small businesses were shortlisted across 12 categories, from high street heroes and sole traders to sustainability leaders.

Little Beau Sheep won the award alongside 11 other winning small firms from across the UK.

“Small businesses are the heart and soul of their communities and make huge contributions to the UK economy. Every year, the Small Awards recognise their efforts,” said Michelle Ovens CBE, founder of Small Business Britain and the Small Awards.

“Congratulations to Little Beau Sheep, who really impressed our team and judges with their story. We can’t wait to hear all about their future success.”

The Small Awards was judged by a panel of leading enterprise experts. Guests enjoyed a night of entertainment at Christ Church in London’s Spitalfields.
