Heather Anne Home Fragrance, a Cumbrian home fragrance business founded by Heather Eccles, has received a major national boost after being selected as a Small Business Sunday (#SBS) Winner by retail entrepreneur Theo Paphitis.

Heather was one of six small businesses selected as a weekly #SBS Winner, joining a community of thousands of UK small businesses recognised through Theo’s Small Business Sunday initiative.

For Heather, the win is a particularly special milestone after more than a decade of building her business alongside her full-time career.

“I genuinely can’t quite believe it,” said Heather. “I started Heather Anne Home Fragrance as a hobby more than ten years ago, making products for friends and family, and it has grown organically into a business with customers, stockists and award recognition.

“To have my business selected by Theo Paphitis as an #SBS Winner is such an incredible vote of confidence. I’m incredibly proud to be joining the #SBS community and excited to see where this opportunity could take the business.”

Every Heather Anne Home Fragrance product is handmade by Heather herself in Cumbria. But for Heather, the business has never simply been about creating something that smells nice.

“I create fragrances around memory, emotion and place — scents inspired by people I love, places that mean something to me, and moments I want to capture.

“Some customers have told me my fragrances have taken them back to childhood, reminded them of someone they’ve lost, or transported them straight back to a favourite place. That is what makes me so passionate about what I do.”

From Gwen’s Garden, inspired by Heather’s Nana, to her Alderney collection, inspired by her favourite place on earth, every fragrance has a story.

Heather Anne Home Fragrance creates candles, wax melts, reed diffusers, perfumes, car diffusers and other home fragrance products, with the brand continuing to grow through its online shop and independent stockists.

Heather added: “I don’t just want my scents to make your home smell beautiful. I want them to make you feel something.”
