You may be happy with the mobile phone you currently own, however, there's probably a feature you would like to be improved or something added to the smartphone to make it even better.

In our mobile phone industry related survey, we asked 106 people across the UK, if they could add any new feature to their smartphone, what would it be?

Below, we reveal the UK's most wanted mobile phone features.

1. A Better Camera

According to CNN Money, the LG G4 is the phone you need if the camera is your number one priority "This might be the best smartphone camera on the planet" (CNN Money, 2015). Another smartphone to look out for with a good quality camera is the Sony Xperia Z4 which is expected to be on sale from around September 2015 and will have a 20.7MP camera.

2. Improved Battery Life

There's many ways you can improve your mobile phone battery life without having to buy a new smartphone or battery, this includes deleting apps you hardly use, disable unnecessary notification, turn off location service, turn down the brightness of your screen, turn vibration and bluetooth off and use battery saver. According to smartphone comparison website specout, the smartphone with the best battery life is the Gionee Marathon M4 which has an incredible 65 hours of talk time. Compared to the more popular models on the market nothing comes close, the HTC One M9 has up to 25 hours and 20 minutes worth of talk time, whereas the iPhone 6 has only 14 hours of talk-time.

3. More Storage Space

Most smartphone manufacturers offer the same storage space options ranging from 16GB to 128GB. Interestingly, recent reports by Tech Radar suggest that Apple are ready to ditch the 16GB model, indicating it is very restrictive (Tech Radar, 2015). It seems from the latest smartphones on the market that the Samsung Galaxy S6 EdgeSamsung Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6 all offer a 128 GB model, whereas the LG G4HTC One M9 and the Sony Xperia Z3 only go up to the 32GB sized option.

4. Better Notes Section

If the notes section supplied by your phone manufacturer isn't meeting your standards, there are a number of different apps you can download to ensure your brainwaves can be noted quicker and easier, such as SimplenoteMicrosoft OneNote and our personal favourite Evernote

5. A More In Depth Calendar / Planner

If you like to plan, record important dates and set reminders and your not satisfied with the free apps provided by your smartphone manufacturer there are a few mobile phone apps you can download to make things easier, such as WunderlistSunriseCal and again Evernote

6. More Robust Screen

Of course, the best way to prevent a smashed screen is to protect your smartphone with some sort of screen cover. During our research we found that a massive 68% of people asked were using either a screen protector or phone case on their smartphone. Incredibly, in December 2014, Apple filed a patent for a sensor system that would rotate the iPhone when it falls to prevent a smashed screen. (Daily Mail, 2014)

7.Improved Security

It's vital you do everything possible to keep the data on your mobile device safe. Firstly, adding a password is a must, but make sure it is something which can not be replicated easily, such as, according to Time Magazine the most popular iPhone password is 1234 (Time, 2011) which of course would be very easy to guess.  There's always a number of external apps you can download to make your smartphone safer such as Kaspersky Internet SecurityNorton Mobile Security or 360 Security

8. Better Maps

Most smartphones are equipped with Google Maps, which is a very handy app and can now be downloaded to use offline as well. However, if you cant get your head around Google's constant updates and want something a bit different, we recommend downloading either Navigon By Garmin orMapQuest

9. Improved Speakers

If your looking for a smartphone with great sound output, it seems HTC is the way to go, in May 2014, mobile phone news website Phone Arena claimed that the HTC One M8 has the best headphone output and the HTC One was the 4th best for loudspeaker loudness. Surprisingly, the Motorola Moto G was number one for loudspeaker loudness (Phone Arena, 2014) Specifications show the newly released HTC One M9 also have impressive sound qualities like its predecessor.

10. larger Screens

If you like your screens big, check out the Huawei MediaPad X1 which has a huge 7 inch screen, alternatively, you could go for something a bit more mainstream like the 6.44 inch Sony Xperia Z Ultra or either the Nokia Lumia 1520 or Google Nexus 6 which both have a 6 inch screen.
