Hello
My name is Rachel I’m 39, Somerset wife and mum of 6.
I’m the owner and founder of Country Stitches. I was a hairdresser for 20 years and then lockdown hit!
Wile home schooling my children in lockdown I took out my sewing machine and started making my children some pe bags, Masks and hairbands wile watching YouTube videos! In the 2nd year I started to get the hang of it all and found I absolutely loved doing what I was doing and booked on to an adult evening sewing course at my local collage! I found a niche in the market for Handmade Children’s Country clothing. Because we are a country family I always struggled to find my children country clothing with dogs, tractors, Highland cows and Land Rovers on. So I started making my own for my children! Little did I know how I would turn this little hobbie into a full time job! A journey of passion and dedication unfolds in every stitch of my handmade children's clothing. Each piece is crafted with care, reflecting a commitment to quality and the charm of country living.
Last year I opened an Etsy account where I sell all my handmade children’s clothing and it just progressed so quickly that in November 2024 I opened my own shop.
I’m super proud of myself how far I’ve come in the last few years juggling the children and pursuing with my passion. Not forgetting the love and support from my husband and family believing in me.
Thank you
Rachel
