My Buzz

Official Artist for Lytham Festival, with my panoramic artwork transforming over 14 metres of festival fencing and set to feature on billboards and merchandise for the 2026 headliner launch. Lancashire Artist of the Year 2024, finalist for the EVAs Creative Industry Award and the Great British Entrepreneur Awards Early Stage Stand Out, and proud winner of Theo Paphitis’s #SBS. I create immersive, story‑led illustrations that celebrate people, places, and culture — art that people feel.

My Bio

I am a Lancashire based visual artist residing in the seaside town of St Annes on Sea. Creativity has been a lifelong companion, but my professional artistic journey truly began after experiencing chronic stress. A pivotal conversation with my GP, who asked, “What did you enjoy doing as a child?”, led me back to art. Within weeks, I picked up a paintbrush for the first time in years, joined local adult art classes, and later enrolled with the London Art College. What started as a personal healing process quickly evolved into a public art practice. Just a year later, I was honoured to be named Lancashire Artist of the Year 2024.

In 2025, I was selected as a finalist in the Enterprise Vision Awards (Creative Industry category), the UK’s largest awards celebrating women in business, and as a national finalist in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards (Early Stage Stand Out – North West), often described as the “Grammys of Entrepreneurship.” I am also proud to have been named one of Theo Paphitis’s #SBS (Small Business Sunday) Winners, joining a national network of leading small businesses.

Official Artist for Lytham Festival

In 2025, I was appointed the official artist in residence for the 15-year anniversary of Lytham Festival, one of the UK’s leading live music events. My role includes creating panoramic, story-led artwork that brings the energy, legacy, and people of the festival to life. The commissioned piece will feature across billboards, bus stops, social media, and festival branding in the lead-up to the 2026 headliner launch.

This follows my acclaimed 2025 commission for the festival fencing, an immersive piece titled “LYTHAMMANIA,” which transformed over 14 metres of plain green barriers into a joyful, visual centrepiece packed with detail, personality, and pop culture nods. A strictly limited run of fine art prints is now available, with the option for hand embellishment using paint, pen work, and glow-in-the-dark effects making each one a unique collector’s edition.

Artistic Style

I specialise in contemporary narrative illustration, crafting immersive artworks that capture emotion, movement, and atmosphere. My process combines traditional hand-drawn watercolour, ink, and pen work with digital collage and design, resulting in richly layered visual stories. Each figure and element is individually illustrated, digitally arranged, and then hand-embellished using watercolour, fine liner, subtle shimmer, and glow-in-the-dark detailing. Every piece is filled with hidden moments, emotional connections, and unexpected joy designed to draw the viewer in and spark curiosity.

Beyond narrative cityscapes, I also create evocative landscapes, wildlife, and figurative works inspired by memory, nature, and the British coastline, all with a signature storytelling twist.

Recognition & Creative Collaborations

My work has been exhibited at the Grundy Art Gallery and featured on BBC News Online, BBC Radio 2 with Sara Cox, ITVX, BBC Radio Lancashire, National World, MSM and in regional publications including the Blackpool Gazette, Lancashire Telegraph, Lytham St Annes Express and more.

I have collaborated with MasterChef: The Professionals winner Oli Martin, creating bespoke fine art for his Michelin-listed restaurant Aven in Preston, and I have been commissioned by councils and public venues for site-specific artwork and community celebrations.

Kathryn Alice Art has also received recognition and engagement from public figures including Johnny Marr, Claudia Winkleman, members of the Strictly Come Dancing and The Traitors casts, and from creative industry leaders such as Tileyard Music, Studio Lambert, and Giles Coren. I am currently serving as a guest judge for Lancashire Artist of the Year 2025, supporting and mentoring the next generation of emerging creatives.

Through Kathryn Alice Art, I offer bespoke artwork packages for events, restaurants, hospitality spaces, public campaigns, and private collectors. Whether it’s a landmark celebration or a one‑off statement piece, I bring meaningful storytelling, visual depth, and emotional impact to every project.
