No 31 Embroidery

🧵 I’m Tracey, a hand embroiderer and textile artist living in beautiful Derbyshire. I run @no31embroidery a bespoke embroidery business where I transform memories and photographs into thread-painted pictures.

🧵 In 2019 it was time to say goodbye to endless corporate meetings and take a leap of faith and practice what I trained in, textiles and embroidery. Leaving the corporate world behind made way for a fulfilling journey that has brought joy not only to myself, but to every customer who appreciates quality and creativity. This new venture allowed a creative dream to come to life. Each piece I design is a little journey — landscapes, seascapes and treasured moments stitched into colourful, textured keepsakes that invite the eye to linger.

🧵 My work grows from a deep love of nature and the sea. Some pieces are original artworks inspired by walks, tides and seasons; others are heartfelt commissions that capture someone’s favourite place or memory. I enjoy exploring colour, light and tiny details, and I like making “impossible” stitching come to life with careful layering and varied techniques.

🧵 Beyond creating, my favourite part of this work is teaching. I run creative embroidery workshops where I share practical skills and simple design approaches so participants can make something they’re proud of. People often tell me how calming and restorative stitching can be — it’s a gentle way to unwind, focus, and boost wellbeing.
