Dr Angela Jones is a veterinary surgeon and co-founder of Petscribers, a UK pet prescription platform transforming how written prescriptions are created, shared and fulfilled, reducing medication costs without compromising care.
As a practising veterinary surgeon, Angela saw first-hand how medication costs impact families. Although regulated online pharmacies can often supply the same medicines at lower prices, awareness remains low and the prescription process has traditionally been slow, manual and vulnerable to fraud.
Petscribers’ unbiased comparison tool enables pet owners to easily find and compare medications from government-accredited pharmacies, ensuring safety, authenticity and value. The platform empowers owners to make informed choices, whether guided by price, delivery speed or retailer preference.
Recognising that veterinary prescribing is complex, with significant variation in species, weight, licensed products and cascade considerations, Petscribers has developed technology that streamlines the process, reducing prescription creation time by up to 80% while embedding compliance and security safeguards. This reduces friction for pet owners and eases the administrative burden on busy veterinary professionals.
Petscribers is building the software its founders wished they had in practice, supporting the UK’s 16 million pet-owning households and 30,000 veterinary professionals, and improving access to medication, transparency and animal welfare.
