My Buzz

I have loved writing since I could hold a pen. However, I didn't realise the power of creative writing until I lost my dad at the age of eight. Unable to express my emotions any other way, I burrowed myself in fiction, and this was a trend I followed through every bout of depression, anxiety, and even agoraphobia.

What I realised eventually was that the times I struggled the most were the times I stopped writing, and so I began publishing my own books in 2012 to keep the anxiety at bay.

It was one thing writing, but I was pretty much alone when it came to navigating self-publishing and having a support system in place. I had to figure out how to improve my writing skills, marketing, decide where to publish, find reliable cover designers, formatters, etc., and all while having nobody to ask all of my silly questions to.

However, everything changed when I found the right people—a supportive, non-judgmental group of authors who lifted each other up. Suddenly, everything was easier, and I could move forward with much more confidence and ease.

So I created Write Here, Write Now to give you the space, tools, and support I wish I’d had from the beginning. Right now, I combine study-at-your-own-pace lessons with masterclasses, a private FB group, sprints, regular events, and so much more, so you never have to feel alone or anxious in your writing journey. As a recently qualified life coach, I also use some of those skills to help you overcome any mindset blocks you're facing so that you can be free to let your creativity flow!

My Bio

I’m Karen, a passionate editor with over a decade of experience polishing fiction and non-fiction works for publication.

Beyond editing, though, I’m the proud founder of the Write Here, Write Now Community—a vibrant, supportive space where fiction writers hone their craft, build confidence, and connect with like-minded creatives. Together, we’ve produced two bestselling anthologies in the Women’s Short Stories category on Amazon, raising funds for Hopefull Handbags UK along the way, and supported numerous authors to get their first books out into the world in an inclusive, friendly space.
