Vicki Wilson, founder of Vicki Admin Fairy® and proud #SBS winner, has celebrated a weekend of extraordinary recognition on both a business and national policy level.
On Thursday 9th May 2025, Vicki was honoured with the Inspiring Journey Award at the prestigious Woman Who Achieves Awards, founded by Sandra Garlick MBE. The award recognises women who have overcome personal or professional challenges to create meaningful, sustainable businesses. Vicki, who lives with cerebral palsy, was selected for her remarkable progress as a disabled entrepreneur, having grown her VA business from a single client into a thriving operation supporting small businesses across the UK.
“This award is more than recognition of my work,” Vicki said. “It’s a reminder that resilience, lived experience and adaptability are not barriers to success—they’re strengths. I want this to inspire other disabled people to see self-employment as a real, empowering option.”
Vicki’s story gained even further momentum when, just three days later on Monday 12th May, she was personally invited by Michelle Ovens CBE—founder of Small Business Britain and co-chair of the Lilac Review—to attend the launch of the Lilac Review Final Report at the House of Lords.
The Lilac Review is a landmark initiative addressing the barriers faced by disabled entrepreneurs across the UK. With disabled people making up 25% of small business owners, the review offers bold, practical recommendations to ensure disabled-led businesses can thrive not in spite of the system, but because it is built to include them.
“Being invited to the House of Lords was a powerful moment,” said Vicki. “It shows that lived experience is finally being recognised as expertise. As a business owner and advocate, I’m proud to have had a seat at the table.”
Vicki’s business, Vicki Admin Fairy®, provides accessible, flexible support to entrepreneurs and SMEs, offering services such as administrative support, financial admin, CRM management, social media scheduling, and trademark application guidance. Her work supports businesses across the UK, with a growing reputation for her empathetic, adaptable approach—particularly among disabled and neurodivergent entrepreneurs.
An #SBS winner and active advocate for accessibility in business, Vicki is also co-founder of the Ablepreneur Success Network, a peer-led group supporting disabled business owners across the UK.
