Sutton Coldfield businesses and Breast Friends Cancer Charity joined together to support ten women who are undergoing chemotherapy or have beaten Breast Cancer.

Sixth Sense Hair Salon Directors Dean Vinning and Dean Robertson hosted this special event to share information to help these women grow back healthy hair.

Wella representative Angela Smith and the Sixth Sense team began by demonstrating NIOXIN Dermabrasion on local lady Vicky Rawnsley who is currently undergoing chemotherapy. NIOXIN cleanses and stimulates the hair follicles to encourage their hair to grow.

The demonstration consisted of scalp examination using a camera which magnifies the hair follicles by x200 so we could see the debris around the follicle. Vicky was then treated to a full dermabrasion which is like a facial, but for the scalp.

Vicky said: “Thank you Sixth Sense for making me feel normal again. I can already feel the effects of the dermabrasion which has relaxed the tight skin around my scalp caused by chemotherapy.”

Every guest had a full consultation to work out which NIOXIN product would best suit them, followed by a complimentary dermabrasion and a NIOXIN starter pack donated by the Breast Friends charity.

Guests were also treated to Prosecco and amazing food donated by The Little Sandwich shop on Sutton High Street.

All guests were then given goody bags full of gifts donated by local businesses including Dart Photography, Yipsy Macarons, Cellar Door Drinks and Cocktail Cosmetics.

Jackie Benzecry, chair of Breast Friends Charity, said: “Thank you so much to Sixth Sense for their kindness. It’s a very traumatic time when you lose your hair and these guys have really made a lot of people happy with the work they are doing with our charity and in the Sutton Coldfield community.”

The night was a massive success and Sixth Sense Salon are looking forward to inviting more ladies along to similar events in 2016.

Dean Vinning said: “We are truly grateful to Breast Friends charity for introducing us to these amazing ladies and we really can’t wait until they’re rocking glamorous healthy hair.”
