November campaign brings together athletes, experts and sporting communities for 30 days of awareness, education and action, culminating in Global REDs Awareness Day on 21 November.
REDSCUE, the UK sports nutrition brand founded by former Spanish national track and field athlete Florence Sargent, is bringing athletes, coaches, healthcare professionals and sporting communities together this November for Global REDs Awareness Month 2026.
Running from 1–30 November, the campaign aims to raise awareness of Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs), encourage earlier conversations and help create a better environment for people participating in sport.
Founded by REDSCUE in 2025, Global REDs Awareness Month returns for its second year under the theme “Small actions. Earlier conversations. Practical change.”
The month will include REDs Advent: 30 Days of REDSCUE, a programme of daily awareness content and resources, followed by Global REDs Awareness Week from 16–22 November. The campaign culminates in Global REDs Awareness Day on Saturday 21 November.
Three webinars to bring the conversation to the forefront
During Global REDs Awareness Week, REDSCUE will host three expert-led webinars exploring different aspects of REDs, from recognising the signs to understanding its impact and creating change.
- Monday 16 November — RECOGNISE: The Hidden Side of REDs, featuring Pippa Woolven, Maddy Reynolds and Luke Gunn.
- Wednesday 18 November — UNDERSTAND: Fuel to Perform. Fuel for Life., featuring Darren Delaney, Jules Strauss, Theresa DeLorenzo and Lauren Charlton.
- Friday 20 November — CHANGE: Winning at What Cost?, featuring Rebecca McConville, Juliette Perry and Jake Liam Smith.
The sessions aim to bring different perspectives into the conversation and provide opportunities to learn, ask questions and explore practical action.
A campaign rooted in lived experience
REDSCUE was founded by Florence Sargent following her own experience of REDs as a competitive athlete. Underfuelling alongside intensive training contributed to her losing her university athletics scholarship, followed by significant injuries that affected her sporting journey.
Her experience inspired her to build a brand focused on making sports fuelling more practical, enjoyable and accessible, while helping challenge the conversations and assumptions that can prevent athletes from fuelling adequately.
Through REDSCUE and Global REDs Awareness Month, Florence wants to help people recognise the importance of fuelling, understand the relationship between energy availability and sporting demands, and feel more able to speak openly about their experiences.
How the public can get involved
Throughout November, individuals and sporting organisations will be encouraged to share campaign resources, participate in social media activities, display awareness posters and start conversations within their communities.
A video challenge will invite people to answer the question: “What does Global REDs Awareness Day mean to you?”
The campaign will also provide opportunities to access Canva templates, educational resources and other materials to help spread awareness.
Florence and REDSCUE hope the campaign will encourage people across sport to consider what small changes they can make to support earlier conversations and a better environment for everyone taking part.
Florence Sargent, founder of REDSCUE, said:
“While REDSCUE’s energy bars provide a practical approach to sports fuelling, Global REDs Awareness Month represents the education and awareness side of our mission. Now in its second year, the campaign brings together different perspectives across fuelling, nutrition, training, performance, injury, recovery, healthcare, coaching and sporting culture to explore REDs in its entirety. It’s about connecting conversations that are too often treated separately, sharing knowledge and lived experiences, challenging existing assumptions and encouraging earlier conversations. By bringing the wider sporting community together, we want to turn awareness into understanding and practical action, helping create a better environment for everyone in sport.”
