Theo Paphitis has launched the ‘Theo Paphitis Art Prize’ in conjunction with his business the London Graphic Centre, offering cash prizes to budding artists.
Theo Paphitis said “Art and all things creative have been a force for good and we want to recognise that, and most importantly put our money where our mouth is with cash prizes.
The theme of the competition is Escapism – perfect for this moment in time, as there can be no doubt that art encourages a feeling of freedom and boosts your mental health. It’s relaxing, creative and most importantly, good for the soul. I wish all entrants the best of luck, and am looking forward to seeing all the entries.”
The prize opens for entries on April 14th 2022, and closes on July 31st, with the winners announced in September.
Prizes:
First prize, chosen by the judges, will win £5,000 cash, £500 worth of materials from London Graphic Centre and a £250 Ryman voucher.
Second prize, known as the Peoples’ Choice Award, will win £2,000 cash, £250 worth of London Graphic Centre materials and £100 Ryman voucher. This award will be voted for online by the public.
Theo will be joined on the judging panel by Claudine O’Sullivan, Duncan Shoosmith, Kate Brinkworth and Zena El Farra.
