WHEN IT COMES TO MARKETING, SOCIAL MEDIA CAN BE AN AMAZING TOOL. IN A BUSINESS CONTEXT, HOWEVER, IT’S NOT ALWAYS EASY TO GET IT RIGHT.
With so many social media platforms available to you and your business, it can be difficult to know where to begin. You know your business. But, knowing what to post to social media and when can be tough. And time consuming! Then there’s the bigger questions to answer, like how do you get those likes and retweets; how can you ensure people see your posts; should you pay to advertise on social media; how do you measure the success of your efforts; how do you know what is working and what isn’t…? Phew!

LET’S GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER: I’M ANDREW
Throughout my career, I found that social media was a ‘bolt on’. Something organisations and business owners thought they should be doing, but didn’t know how to or just didn’t have the time. General marketing agencies were purporting to “do social media” but while their print advertisements, websites and design were amazing, their social media efforts were lacklustre. That’s not to say that they don’t know how to “do” social media, but that they had their ‘marketer’s hat’ on and misunderstood why the audience was there. Speaking to business owners, the key issues with social media marketing for them were time and knowledge. And that’s how Lamb Social Media came about. Teaching and training people is what I do. Giving them the tools to be able to manage social media for themselves in house and seeing them flourish makes me proud while allowing the business owners the time to do what they do best – run their business.

My Business Tips

Be there. Scheduling to social media is all well and good, but to see results you must interact with people. Like and share their posts, respond to comments on your posts, actively listen for mentions of your product / service / area, take part in conversations.
