chicken/egg hatched in June 2004.  Our MD, Karen Davis, started her agency career back in 1989 and she recognised a new way of remote working that didn’t compromise on creativity!

We’re made up of a vast talent pool of senior ex-agency or trade professionals and project teams are built around the needs of the client.

Flexible, remote working married with modern technology brings the freedom to create without traditional constraints of where and when we work.

Good for us: At chicken/egg we can concentrate on what we do best. Everyone has their own expertise. We don’t compete with each other, we rely on each other. There’s no I in our TEAM – but there is tea, and sometimes cake.

Good for you: Our clients don’t pay us for maintaining expensive offices. They aren’t paying for our commute time to meetings or when we file paperwork. They never pay for people they don’t need.  chicken/egg helps to support your business – you don’t have to support ours.

My Bio

When I started chicken/egg back in 2004 I was predominantly supporting other marketing agencies as a Pitch Doctor and helping them with their employee engagement.

Fast forward four years and I’d evolved to become a stand-alone agency supporting clients directly with their marketing planning and design.

My business model was quite unique - bringing together collaboration through freelance/consultant teams - but fast forward again and it’s becoming pretty mainstream and lots of agencies operate in this fluid and cost effective way. That actually makes me feel confident that I’ve created a strong business that can continue to grow!

I might be the Chief Chicken but my eggscellent (there had to be pun in this status!) coop of designers, writers, digital specialists, social & PR experts, videographers, photographers, developers and event planners have made chicken/egg the agency that I love running.

Alongside account managing client projects I’ve also acted as a marketing/business consultant for clients and, on occasion, stepped in as an interim marketing head to lend a hand when teams are stretched.

Over the years I’ve worked with a diverse range of clients, covering B2B and B2C projects.

I’ve developed and delivered digital and print advertising campaigns, created new branding and strategy plans, designed direct mail and social media activity, ran PR stunts and events, art-directed photo and video shoots and written (and implemented) new business strategies and marketing plans.
