My Buzz

FAI Consultancy helps hotels and hospitality businesses use AI to free up their teams, improve the guest experience and stop revenue slipping through the gaps.

Through AI readiness assessments, practical roadmaps, team training and hands-on workflow automation, I help business leaders work out where to start, what needs fixing first and which investments are worth making.

That might mean reducing repetitive guest enquiries, improving handovers between departments or making better use of information already sitting in the business.

My approach comes from working in hospitality operations myself. I understand the pressure of delivering a great guest experience while juggling staffing, sales and the latest thing that’s broken.

My Bio

I’m Francesca Wood, founder of FAI Consultancy, based in Cornwall.

My background is in hospitality, venue and accommodation management, with hands-on experience across operations, commercial strategy, sales, marketing and guest experience. I know how easily the day disappears into solving everyone else’s problems, while the work that could move the business forward waits until tomorrow.

That experience shapes everything I do at FAI. I help hospitality leaders understand what AI could do for their business, choose sensible priorities and give their teams the confidence to put it to work.

My work has included supporting leaders at Red Carnation Hotels with AI readiness and a practical roadmap for adoption. I also contribute to the AI Hospitality Alliance’s AI Readiness Framework Committee in the US.

Being recognised as a Theo Paphitis #SBS winner is a proud milestone as I grow FAI and connect with other business owners.

My belief is simple: technology should give us more time for the work and the life we actually want.

My Business Tips
  • Start with what’s costing you time.
Before buying another tool, identify the tasks your team repeats every week. Chasing information, copying between systems and answering the same questions are useful places to look.
  • Ask the people doing the work.
Your team usually knows exactly where time gets wasted. Ask: “What do you do every week that feels unnecessarily difficult?” Then listen.
Tidy the process before automating it.
  • If nobody agrees how a task should work, putting AI into the middle will add confusion. Get the steps, responsibilities and information clear first.
  • Start small and measure the difference. Choose one useful task. Record how long it takes and what a good result looks like. Test, review and expand when you have evidence it helps.
  • Decide what you’ll do with the time you save. Better customer service? Following up enquiries? Getting home on time? Give that time a purpose, or another spreadsheet will claim it.
