This day last year, after entering a few times, we won the Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday Twitter competition. We received a business boost from Retail Entrepreneur Theo Paphitis after tweeting to Theo about Baby Fresh during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and we were one of six weekly winners to gain a retweet by Theo to his near half a million Twitter followers.  The weekly initiative, set up by Theo in 2010, now has over 3,000 #SBS winners and supports small businesses in the UK.

Business and retail entrepreneur and self-confessed Shopkeeper, Theo re‐tweeted our message to his almost 500,000 followers and as a result we have doubled our social media followers plus joined an extensive community of small businesses for support, mentoring and conversation. Plus we are profiled on the #SBS website (www.theopaphitissbs.com) that is exclusive to all Small Business Sunday winners.

We launched Baby Fresh in April 2020 and have grown since then by being able to connect to customers and audiences online through initiatives like Small Business Sunday. The day we won helped us spread the word about our baby led weaning and toddler meal kits with our mission to help families on their journey, with easy to cook, nutritious baby meals.

Small business champion and Ryman Stationery, Robert Dyas and Boux Avenue Chairman, Theo Paphitis, said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.  My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings. The website will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish Baby Fresh every success.”

Anyone looking for a re‐tweet from Theo should tweet him about their business on Sunday between 5 PM and 7.30 PM and include the hashtag #SBS. You can now enter on Instagram also. Six lucky businesses are re‐tweeted every Monday at 8 PM and then invited to enter their profile on the new website, attend the annual #SBS networking event and take advantage of the networking opportunities.

We are a small family run business that started in Belfast so being able to connect with like minded small business owners and discuss challenges gives every owner a boost from week to week. It has been great to see other small businesses from Ireland appear as #SBS winners and now we have expanded to Manchester so being part of this community will help spread the word about our meal kits. Find out more about us at babyfresh.uk or follow us on Twitter at @BabyFreshUK. Good luck to all that enter #SBS
