Here at Fabtraining, small business values are at the heart of everything we do. As a local, Yorkshire-based company we understand the strong sense of community among the people we work for, and we champion any small business owner that tries to build something from nothing. Fabtraining is a family-based business with strong family values something we are incredibly proud of and strive to maintain.

Recently, we had the honour of winning one of Theo Paphitis’ coveted #SBS retweets via our Twitter channel, and we are priveldged and honoured to have become part of a welcoming and friendly small business community that shares our values.

Business tycoon Theo Paphitis is well-known for his appearance on Dragon’s Den, where he gives entrepreneurs a chance to gain some much-needed investment for their business idea, and advice to get the business started. With his roots in retail, he is now chair of Ryman StationeryRobert Dyas and Boux Avenue. He understands what it takes to build a business into something great, and he has always been a big supporter of small businesses across the UK.

Every Sunday, Theo takes part in “Small Business Sunday”, an online weekly showcase of some of his favourite small businesses. Small business owners tweet about their company, mentioning Theo, and he retweets a select few onto his main page which boasts almost half a million followers! This idea was set up in 2010 to show his support for everything small business owners do across the UK, and there has since been over 3,000 #SBS winners.

We were so excited to win this honour and feature on Theo’s Twitter page, as well as the #SBS website alongside many other fantastic local businesses. Since the retweet to Theo’s account we have received several enquiries booking our training and event services, meaning we get to help more people understand basic first aid, teach employees about fire safety, or provide a health and safety course that could save a life.

As a company, we are passionate about supporting local and small businesses and we have always admired Theo’s ethos. He is a self-proclaimed shop-keeper, and he has never forgotten his roots as he has risen to become a retail magnate

Now, during these tough times, it’s more important than ever that everyone has the necessary training to deal with an emergency at work. Whether this is first aid or  food safety relevant and professional training is so important to make sure all employees feel safe at work and mandatory requirements are met.

At Fabtraining, we provide first aid training across Driffield and Yorkshire, covering cities in the North such as York and Sheffield, and also catering to events across the UK.
