Sweet Pizzas on the TV!

Last weekend myself and my dessert business Sweet Pizzas made it onto TV which was broadcasted on Tuesday evening at 6.30pm and 9.30pm on the Made in Leeds TV channel.

Made in Leeds is a Freeview channel dedicated to Leeds and I had been on their radar for a while. When they caught wind that we’d be trading at Kirkstall Deli Market they lined up a three minute interview for the show. I was given one day’s notice so I didn’t have any time to be nervous; being passionate about my product really calms the nerves! The crew turned up at 2.30pm, half hour before the end of the market and I did my little interview with the very lovely Beth. I spoke about how the idea came about, popular pizzas, future plans and Beth also asked how we won the #SBS award from Theo Paphitis.

I think the interview went quite well and the feedback on Facebook and Twitter has been brilliant. I’m hoping this exposure brings more business just like winning the SBS award in December did.

I encourage everyone to explore their local network for opportunities like this. Even if you have contacted them already with little to no success you should send them updates instead of further requests that way you are staying on their radar and not being too evasive.  I picked up that top tip from Jo of Jo & Sephs Popcorn at a small business event in London last month. He is now stocked in Selfridges and on BA Business Class flights!

If you would like to watch the clip on Made in Leeds head to this link – http://bit.ly/1ddJ9nT and scrub to 04min 06 seconds to catch the interview. Would be great to hear what you thought in the comments below or on our Twitter.
