Bee Ready

Hello I am Roanna aka Mrs Summerbee :)

I am a primary school teacher who whilst on Maternity leave (somehow with very lack of sleep) carefully created Bee Ready (with Mrs Summerbee).

My aim is to help our children in the most important years of their lives so they can start school in the best place possible.

I want children to bee excited, bee confident and bee ready to learn for school!

These sessions help support families in building the foundational skills their child needs when starting school. This is known as 'school readiness' and is in line with the 'starting reception definition'.

Bee Ready runs parent and child courses and sessions in communities (currently Gloucestershire). I apply for funding, currently from a local charity called Gloucestershire Gateway Trust. This then means the sessions are FREE for families and run at Children and family centres/hubs supporting the Governments "Best Start in Life" plan.

A lot has happened in just 6 months of running my business. I started with just 1 trial course and very quickly this built to 5 courses a term. Families are extremely appreciative and feedback I get from the children and parents really shows me why I created Bee Ready - the impact is strong and worth every moment!

Winning #SBS is such an incredible milestone, that I wasn't expecting and I’m excited to become part of the community and continue learning and growing from other entrepreneurs.
