We are very proud to be the seventh generation still producing the original Morecambe Potted Shrimp. Baxters is one of the oldest, if not the oldest family firm in Morecambe.The family arrived in the district in the 1600`s, and in the early days combined farming with fishing. The fishing side of the business grew with Morecambe and Baxters was founded in 1799 by James Baxter. We have been potting shrimps for over 200 years. We have never altered the basic process and secret original recipe, and by using only the best raw materials in hygenic conditions, we achieve a consistently high quality product. In 1962 we were very honoured to be granted a Royal Warrant to HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and in 1967 to HM The Queen which we retain to this day.
We use locally sourced shrimps and our potted shrimps are 100% natural with no additives or preservatives.
Whilst our main product is potted shrimps, smoked salmon, dressed crab, scallops and pate are also available.
We supply restaurants, hotels, delicatessens, farm shops & specialist food stores.
