Wow! I am incredibly excited to be here. It means so much to me that such an achievement has come from me, taking a leap of faith and, deciding to put my heart and soul into something that I love. The intricacy and technicality of micro-macramé has always fascinated me and even now, years later, I still find it amazing that such beautiful things can be created just from a series of knots! I enjoy being able to share my creations with my customers and nothing makes me happier as a business owner than receiving a great review!
My name is Kirsty and I am the owner/designer of K.D Jewellery. I am 28 years old and live in Newton Abbot, Devon with my family. I have been married to my wonderful husband for almost five years and, between us, we have five children.
I've always been a creative person, even when I was little (who knew you could make so many things from junk?!) and over the years I've dabbled in a variety of different crafts. I'd never considered turning my hand to jewellery until a few years ago, when I was in search of a bracelet. I knew exactly what I wanted but couldn't find anything that was 'just right' so, I decided to purchase the materials and try to make it myself! That was when I discovered macramé. I started out with very simple designs but the more I practised the more I felt confident to expand. I still have a long way to go when it comes to learning new techniques and expanding my current collections but the story of how K.D Jewellery began is a simple one... I found something that I simply love to do!
Believe in yourself! You can pour as much time and effort into something as you like but, if you don't have the passion for it or the belief that you can succeed, then you will never truly understand that anything is possible. Hard work and determination - through good times and bad - are the key. As a small business owner, you ARE your business and its up to you to make it all that it can be.
