My Safe Place Southern Ltd

Founder: Karen Mason

After more than 36 years working within the UK holiday park industry, I founded My Safe Place Southern Ltd with one simple mission: to make holidays truly accessible and enjoyable for neurodivergent individuals and their families.

Inspired by my own lived experience supporting neurodivergent family members, I recognised that many families were avoiding holidays because traditional holiday accommodation and environments simply weren't designed with their needs in mind. I wanted to change that.

Today, My Safe Place Southern works alongside holiday park operators, accommodation manufacturers and tourism providers to create genuinely inclusive guest experiences. We have designed the UK's first purpose-built neurodivergent-friendly holiday caravan, developed specialist retrofit solutions for existing accommodation, and provide consultancy, staff training and accessibility reviews that help businesses become more welcoming and supportive for neurodivergent guests.

Our aim is not simply to adapt accommodation but to remove barriers, reduce anxiety and create environments where families can relax, feel safe and make lasting memories together.

Since launching, we have been honoured with industry recognition, including the Industry Innovator Award, and are working with leading holiday parks, manufacturers and tourism organisations to improve accessibility across the UK leisure sector.

Winning Theo Paphitis' Small Business Sunday Award is an incredible milestone for our business. As a small company with a big vision, receiving Theo's support provides valuable national exposure and reinforces the importance of creating inclusive holidays for everyone.

We are proud to be part of the #SBS community and look forward to continuing our journey of helping businesses become more inclusive while ensuring every family has the opportunity to enjoy a holiday without unnecessary barriers.
