Whittaker Design was Established By Donald Whittaker R.I.B.A. In 1972. The present Partners are Alan Doherty M.C.I.A.T. who has been with the Company almost from conception and Lee Hollinworth M.C.I.A.T. who joined the practice from leaving education in 1989. Both partners are Chartered members of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (www.ciat.org.uk) which requires a high level of construction knowledge, experience, a commitment to continuous professional development and a professional interview in front of a panel from the institute to obtain.

Whittaker Design has a high level of understanding of the Planning Act and has dealt with many of the Local Authorities throughout the Country. For a number of years we have been involved in a partnering agreement with our local building control service for submission of all our Building Regulation applications. Through this we have developed a long standing working relationship with the Building Control officers and we are able to have pre application discussions, which can also accelerate applications.

Our extensive knowledge and expertise covers Public Houses, Hotels, Restaraunts, Private Clubs, Golf Clubs, Rugby Clubs, Housing Developments, Industrial / Office Properties, Individual Domestic Commissions and Theatres.
