My Buzz

Hello!

Allow us to introduce ourselves, we are the 'Dotty Mares' two sisters currently trying to give up the day jobs and spend all our time in Dotty, our converted horse box bar. Dotty is our pride and joy and we have invested a lot of time, love and money into making our dream come true.

Dotty is a real head turner and is a BIG hit wherever she goes.

You may see Dotty out and about at Village Fairs or even driving to a wedding. We are also enjoying supporting charities by donating a % of our profit to their well deserved causes.

We would love to help at Corporate Events and purposely had Dotty's signage interchangeable so companies can brand themselves. PS we can be just as passionate about your products as we can about Dotty. So any distillers/Drink manufacturers looking for a SUPER way to show off your product, get in touch.

My Bio

Dotty Mares is a family-run business based in Harrow, North-West London set up by two sisters. They have a converted horse-box bar which is available for dry hire or bespoke packages, including ‘Gin & Fizz’ and ‘Port & Cheese’.

Dotty Mares offers tailored packages to suit a wide range of events, from baby showers to corporate events, birthdays and weddings, fitting in perfectly with the growing event planning market, giving the Dotty Mares some healthy competition, paired with their distinctive ‘Dotty’ horsebox. Other packages include Mocktails, Pimms, Mulled Wine & Mince Pies as well as opportunities to hire the horsebox as an outlet for other businesses.

The name ‘Dotty Mares’ is a nod to the sisters’ birthplace of Weston-Super-Mare, where the horsebox ‘Dotty’ was also born, just minutes away from their childhood home. Upon Dotty’s arrival, created by Tudor Catering Trailers, the sisters were overjoyed, and Karen described the horsebox as “everything we wanted and more, it is perfect!”

Sisters, Nicola and Karen started the planning process in January 2018, and within 6 months have bookings lined up, a gin partnership with Bimber Gin in Park Royal, a summer launch party and Dotty in tow… Having always had a passion and keen interest in food and drink, both sisters describe the opening of their new business Dotty Mares as a “dream come true” and something that “proves how dreams can turn into reality with a bit of determination”, added Nicola.

My Business Tips

Research, learn and grow.....don't be talked into or out of something. Your business is your baby. We created a mood board and 7 months later we had our dream. Use friends and family especially younger members to help with social media, website building, they know more than we do and it makes for a wonderful story, plus gives them something for their CV!
